It can take many years and it usually costs a lot of money to become a Master Groomer. Master Groomers sometimes make more money than groomers who don’t have the certificate, but that isn’t always the case.

The BEST book about the grooming profession
After reading it I immediately wanted to come here and share my thoughts about it. It really is a wonderful book, and a great resource for budding groomers and/or people who are contemplating this career.
In the first part of the book the author, Shelly White, explains exactly how she became a dog groomer. Her story is quite charming, and I’m sure most professional groomers will identify with a lot of what she went through.
In the second part of the book the author masterfully breaks down the grooming profession. She goes over every single aspect of how to become a groomer and what it takes to succeed.
One of the main points of the book is making the money that you deserve, where she explains that it IS possible to make good money in this career, and to not accept low-paying positions. That is absolutely true, and they are great words of wisdom.
This is the most thorough book I’ve ever read about becoming and working as a pet groomer. There is so much great content in the book, and I recommend it to anyone who has ever even thought about this career.
As a grooming salon owner, I can honestly say that Shelly White has written one of the best books about pet grooming that I’ve ever come across. Bravo Mrs. White, bravo!

A book written by a very caring groomer
This really inspired me!
I graduated high school 2 years ago and have been working from home in customer support, but I never really wanted to do this plus the money just isn’t that great. Now I’m thinking about learning how to groom and working from home. That’s something that I had never even thought about before reading this book. The author goes over all of the places groomers work and I didn’t realize that some of them work from home which is perfect for me.
The book has a lot of great tips about how to get started and how to do it quickly. I was also relieved to find out you don’t need to go to college, because I had looked into some programs at a community college nearby but I just don’t have the money for even that. She gives some great tips on how to start training without paying for any kind of school which I can’t afford.
I also really liked the ‘How To Make Money’ book. That was also really really inspiring and made me want to get started as soon as possible with this. I’m in the process of getting some of my grooming tools and I’m super excited to get started! If you’re thinking about grooming then you will realy like this book!
